Julia W. Taylor

	Julia W. Taylor of Pinckneyville was called to heavenly home at 12:17 a.m. Monday, July 31, 2000 surrounded by her family and Gods angels.
	Julia, daughter of the late Walter and Lydia (Alexander) Verman, was born June 29, 1903 in Franklin County, MO.
	She had just celebrated her 97th birthday.
	She had accepted Jesus as her Savior and was baptized September 24, 1924.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, for 51 years.  She loved teaching the little ones in Sunday School and was active in the mission group for many years. She had a very quiet way, but by faithfulness and actions she set a good example as a Christian not only for her family but also for others.
	She also enjoyed going to the Senior Citizens and traveling.  she married Henry Taylor, June 21, 1921.  He passed away August 5, 1970.  She retired from Dietary at Pinckneyville Community Hospital in 1968.  Her life was devoted to taking care of her family.
	She has had the loving care of her daughter, Shirley and her husband Jack Williams of Pinckneyville for the last 10 years.
	She is survived by five daughters:  Fern Walker of Bonita Springs, FL, Elsie Logan, Shirley Williams, Gloria Thies and Ruth Shute of Pinckneyville and one son:  John Taylor of Bowling Green, KY.  She had 18 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, two brothers, one son in infancy, two granddaughters, one great-granddaughters and two sons-in-law.
	Funeral services were held on Wednesday, August 2, 2000 at 11 a.m. in the First Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, with Reverend Maurice Swinford, Pastor Leonard Glover and Reverend James Bush officiating.  Interment was in the IOOF Cemetery, Pinckneyville.
	 Friends were able to call at the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, on Tuesday from 6 until 9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 8 until 9:30 a.m. then at the church from 10 a.m. until services.
	Memorials may be made to the Hopewell Cemetery, Pinckneyville.
